Created from <SR 3-9780825351>

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Performance Intelligence Center (PIC) Software - Version 9.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

PMF is not sending data. Output of routeDisp command is showing routes, but there is no flow of data on all of them.

Additionally, error like below is present in pmiaMonitor log:

1024:081230.061 TR-V compile PMIA with 28 filters [26540/ExpertFileCreator.C:274]
1024:081230.459 TR-V compile failure for 28 filter(s) [26540/ExpertFileCreator.C:281]
1024:081230.459 TR-V The compile of filters failed [26540/main.C:25]

Also, /tmp/pmiaCompiler.log will have error like:

ERROR:syntax error
error during parsing of line (ip) and ((src host 1.1.1.1/28 or src host 2.2.2.2/28) or (dst net 1.1.1.1/28 or dst net 2.2.2.2/28))
Compiler build error!

Cause

PMF is not able to process data because of an issue in PMF PMIA filter compilation, which is caused by wrong filter.

In this example wrong parts are "src host 1.1.1.1/28" and "src host 2.2.2.2/28", because networks (/28) are defined as "host", thus causing compilation error.

Solution

Following steps need to be performed to resolve the issue:

  • Find and correct the faulty filter in NSP CCM
  • Apply changes on this PMF
