Symptoms

The hex display is showing any number other than (the default) "00"

Cause

There is a problem with the display hardware itself.

NOTE: The hex display is NOT used to display any error condition and has NO current use in this product and there are NO definitions for any number displayed on it.

Solution

Repair the chassis hardware related to the hex display.

There is a ribbon cable involved and typically reseating this cable connection from the status panel to the midplane resolves this - such that the display is again displaying "00".

NOTE: The above procedure should be carried out by an Oracle Field Service Engineer. Downtime may be required.
