SymptomsThe HP/IBM LTO4 drives that are configured with either a Dione or Belisarius card for encryption and higher generation drives can have issues when their Dione/Belisarius cards or Ethernet interfaces are connected to Network switches that are on an open or public network. CauseThese drive's Dione and Belisarius cards and drive Ethernet connections were not designed to be out on an open or public network and thus cannot handle the busy network traffic that those networks typically bring. SolutionPer HP and IBM their LTO4 and higher generation drives and their underlying Encryption cards should not be connected to an open or public network and should not be connected to a network that has network security tools run on them.
