Several components had been replaced: System board, Disk backplane, SAS Expander, HBA and the cable between the HBA and the SAS expander.

Symptoms

After replacing the components the disks connected to Disk Backplane 1 (DBP0) reported this on boot up:

Changes

The data cable between the SAS expander and the DBP 0 was bad.   I2C information was not being exchanged between the SAS HBA and the Disk Backplane.

*** Note when changing multiple parts on the X3-2, X3-2L, X4-2 and X4-2L remember that the TLI containers for the serial number information are contained in the Systemboard, DBP0 and PS0.   Whenever one of these parts are replaced make sure that the SP is reset so that the TLI data is sync'd up.  It is best to confirm that the Serial number information is correct rather than take it for granted.  Two of these three components have to be the same for the serial number data to stayed sync'd.

Cause

Bad disk cable (P/N:  7015654)

Solution

 After the cable was replaced the console output reported:
