Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1930150.1 : To Identify Expiry of XDR Builders License on IXP Server, to Apply for New License, Loading New License on IXP Subsystem
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-9635750846> Applies to:Oracle Communications Performance Intelligence Center (PIC) Software - Version 4.1 to 9.0.4 [Release 4.0 to 9.0]Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsIf xDR builders license has expired on IXP server running the sessions, following issues/symptoms will be observed:
If going to replace any IXP server in a IXP subsystem, the license on new server will become invalid and there will be a need to apply for new license for complete IXP susbsystem. Before replacing the server with new one shift the sessions created on server to be replaced on any other server in the same IXP subsystem through NSP GUI-->> CCM -->> MEDIATION-->> DISTRIBUTION, as old license will remain valid on other servers till we install new license on complete IXP subsystem. ChangesIf we have replaced one or more servers in any IXP subsystem, there is need to apply for new license, as the existing license becomes invalid for new servers. Sessions will stop updating on new servers if not shifted on other server in same IXP subsytem before replacing the server. CausexDR license might have expired on Ixp server. To verify, execute below command as cfguser on Ixp Server: [cfguserixp ~]$ IxpCheckLicense
Current license : STARTUP Generation date : 09/06/2014 Duration : 8 days Expiry date : 09/17/2014 Current validity: EXPIRED [cfguser@ixp0002-1c ~]$ SolutionWhen License has expired, or any server is replaced in IXP subsytem you need to apply for new License. You can apply for new license through the www.oracle.com website, License code from Support menu. If Oracle team asks to provide IxpSubsystemKey.data file, you can obtain it as below: From master server in this IXP subsystem, locate the IxpSubsystemKey.data file in the /home/cfguser/ directory. As cfguser, run: [cfguserixp ~]$ls -lrth /home/cfguser/
The list of files must contain the correct IxpSubsystemKey.data file. Get this file to your laptop. contact and share this file with Oracle Support team for new license generation. New license generation can take 24-48 hours.
Once Oracle support team provides you the new valid license file perform below steps to activate license on IXP server:
From 9.0.3, all xDR servers are converted to DWS and will act as storage server (i.e. work independent of Ixp Subsystem). No builder will be installed on these servers and no session will be running on it. No license is required.
