Applies to:

StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

SL150 ping works port-1 using port1 and port-2 IPs with the below configuration.

Port1:192.168.10.1/24

Port2:192.168.10.10/24 (Fixed)

PC:192.168.10.2/24

PC--SL150(Port1) Crossover cable direct connection.

Ping works to 192.168.10.1 and 192.168.10.10.

Changes

Configured port-1 IP to 192.168.0.1/24 and enabled port-2 access.

Cause

It is possible to configure the same subnet for port-1 as for port-2 i.e. 192.168.0.x/24. This causes a conflict.  Confirmed code level 225 has fixed IP 192.168.10.10/24 for port-2.

Solution

It is required to configure the IP address of port-1 to other than 192.168.10.x/24 to avoid IP conflict with port-2. This is not mentioned in published documents.
