Symptoms

Platform and OS: Sun Fire x4200m2 / Oracle Linux 6.5
Application: Used SDP2 server RPM - MdvopServer-2.1.1-1.i686.rpm

There is error 'VSM: Unable to gather device info.' when trying to discover VSM4 or 5 from MDVOP domain configuration.

It's a new installation of Customer Installable VOP 2.1.1 Server

Cause

There is problem with vshell command.

$ ps -ef | grep -i vshell
501 17427 17296 0 08:14 pts/0 00:00:00 grep -i vshell
$
$ pwd
/opt/Oracle/MdvopServer/bin
$
$ ./vshell 10.xxx.xxx.xxx
-bash: ./vshell: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory
$

Solution

Install the 32bit libraries.

# yum install glibc.i686

After installing glibc.i686, the VSM can be discovered successfully.

# su - sdp2admin
$
$ ./vshell 10.xxx.xxx.xxx
