Unable to ping the HBT from the CLI Port.

Changes

 None

Cause

Defective component on the PUM Motherboard.

Solution

Determine if the internal switch to the HBT on the motherboard PUM card is defective.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Initiate a SSH session to the SL3000 via the serial port.

2. Issue a "ping hbt" command via the Command Line Interface.  If Redundant Electronics is installed you will need to enter a "ping hbta" command.

Output should look like the following if successful:

SL3000> ping hbta
PING hbta (10.0.0.11): 56 data bytes
  64 bytes from 10.0.0.11: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=1.6 ms

If not successful you will see this output:

SL3000> ping hbt
PING hbt (10.0.0.10): 56 data bytes

  --- hbt ping statistics ---
1 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
COMPLETED

3. Check the LED indicators on the PUM card.  Refer to the attached file for further LED information.

4. If the 4th to the left indicator is off (HBTA INT), then the internal switch on the PUM is probably defective.  The PUM will need to be replaced.
