Solution 1925519.1 : Sun Storage Common Array Manager (CAM): Firmware Upgrade from Version 7.80 to 7.84 Fails for the Sun Storage 6780 Array

Symptoms

An attempt to upgrade firmware to the baseline version 7.84 on a Sun Storage 6780 Array running 7.80.xx.xx using Sun Storage Common Array Manager (CAM) version 6.10 fails with error:

cannot find the file: /opt/SUNWstkcam/share/fw/images/nge/RC_0784530_e10_784_7091_apollo.dlp

Cause

The 6780_erie.properties file has a typo in the firmware file name. This problem has been documented in <Bug 19563133>.

Solution

The workaround for this problem is to correct the typo in /opt/SUNWstkcam/share/fw/baseline/6780_erie.properties file:

Change this line:

STK6580_6780.file=nge/RC_0784530_e10_784_7091_apollo.dlp

To this:

STK6580_6780.file=nge/RC_07845310_e10_784_7091_apollo.dlp

Save the file and then perform the firmware upgrade again.
