Information in this document applies to any platform.

Analyzed the Error warn info logs from the SL500.
There are no hardware issues in the logs.
Checked the OS logs and confirmed that tape drives are detected correctly.

Symptoms

Drives stuck with the tape.Drives not coming up in Netbackup.

Changes

No changes were made by the customer.

Cause

Drive configuration issues in Netbackup.

Solution

Request customer to do a reconfiguration of the tape drives in Netbackup.

#sgscan
To check whether the tape drives are visible from OS.
#tpautoconfig -t
To check whether the tape drives are visible from Netbackup.
#tpconfig
To configure the tape drives.

Customer performed reconfiguration and the drives got configured successfully. Confirmed the functionality with test backup on all drives.
