SPARC T3-2 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

SPARC T3-2 server running Solaris 11.2 will panic when running ORACLE VTS

Cause

On a SPARC T3-2 server running Solaris 11.2, any attempt to run Oracle Validation Test Suite (Oracle VTS Version: 7.18.1)
can cause a fatal error in the PCIe fabric regardless of whether it is started through the runvts option
(/usr/sunvts/bin/runvts), a command in a terminal window (/usr/sunvts/bin/startsunvts -t), or the graphical
user interface (/usr/sunvts/bin/startsunvts -g).

Solution

Downgrade to a prior version of VTS.

- Issue the following commands if the system/test/sunvts package is not installed:

# pkg change-facet facet.version-lock.consolidation/SunVTS/SunVTS-incorporation=false

# pkg update SunVTS-incorporation@0.5.11-0.175.1.0.0.14.0

# pkg install system/test/sunvts

- Issue the following commands if the system/test/sunvts package is installed:

# pkg change-facet facet.version-lock.consolidation/SunVTS/SunVTS-incorporation=false

# pkg update SunVTS-incorporation@0.5.11-0.175.1.0.0.14.0 sunvts@7.0.14-0.175.1.0.0.14.0
