SymptomsAfter MB replacing the ILOM started to show these messages Cannot open /dev/sptrace ChangesAfter MB replacing and booting the server for first time. CauseErrors continuously appeared on the console connected through the serial management port during ILOM starting up. The message is flooding the console As this would be an issue with setting up the sptrace device, it will take an SC reset to clear, and an SC reset to hit. SolutionReset the Service Processor, if the reset doesn't resolve, remove AC to powercycle and reboot the Service Processor.
