Symptoms

SES device entries are no longer displayed under /dev/es and SCCLI fails to see and monitor the JBOD device.

host-name# sccli
sccli: no manageable devices found
sccli: Type "sccli help" for valid commands.

With proper /dev/es/ses* entries, cfgadm -al would show:

c7 dsk/c7t10d0 connected configured unknown HITACHI HUS10143ASUN146G
c7 dsk/c7t11d0 connected configured unknown HITACHI HUS10143ASUN146G
c7 dsk/c7t8d0 connected configured unknown HITACHI HUS10143ASUN146G
c7 dsk/c7t9d0 connected configured unknown HITACHI HUS10143ASUN146G
c7 es/ses0 connected configured unknown SUN StorEdge 3120 D      <------ SES device

If the /des/es/ses* entries are missing, cfgadm -al will not have the SES device listed:

c6 dsk/c6t10d0 connected configured unknown HITACHI HUS10143ASUN146G
c6 dsk/c6t11d0 connected configured unknown HITACHI HUS10143ASUN146G
c6 dsk/c6t8d0 connected configured unknown HITACHI HUS10143ASUN146G
c6 dsk/c6t9d0 connected configured unknown HITACHI HUS10143ASUN146G
