Symptoms

When running automatic checks:

Grid Disk name RECOC2_CD_09_rmpf_celadm10 does not have cell name () suffix Naming convention not used. Cannot proceed further with  automating checks and repair for bug 12433293.

The hostname of storage cells is RFC 1123 compliant however the restrictions to the values of attributes do not allow the use of the hyphen "-" symbol.

Restrictions on Values of Common Attributes
The following restrictions apply to the values of attributes common to multiple CellCLI objects.
The value of the name attribute must be less than 256 characters and composed only of the following ASCII characters (alphanumeric and underscore only):
        Lowercase alphabetic characters (a to z)
        Uppercase alphabetic characters (A to Z)
        Numbers (0 to 9)
        Underscore (_)

Bug 18687078 ASM GRIDDISK,DISKGROUP AND FAILURE GROUP MAPPING IS NOT AS RECOMMENDED

Done the changes to handle special character.

Fixed will be available in 2.2.5 (exachk)

Solution

Automatic checks based on Exachk 2.2.5 and later will show properly
For automatic checks based on earlier versions of Exachk, you can ignore this.
