Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1907635.1 : Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance: Fail To Retrieve LDAP Certificate From Windows AD Server - Unanticipated System Error
An attempt is made to configure ldap on a windows ldap server using either port 389 or port 636. In this Document
Created from <SR 3-9104133351> Applies to:Sun ZFS Storage 7420 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-2 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Sun ZFS Storage 7120 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Sun ZFS Storage 7320 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-4 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] 7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks) SymptomsOn the array a "Unanticipated System Error" is reported. When Checking the error logs on the Windows LDAP server this error is reported: Event ID: 36886 No suitable default server credential exists on this system. This will prevent server applications that expect to make use of the system default credentials from accepting SSL connections.
An example of such an application is the directory server. Applications that manage their own credentials, such as the Internet Information Server, are not affected by this.
CauseThe Active Directory Certificate Server Role is not installed on the windows LDAP server. This means this server can not generate and present a LDAP certificate to the array.
SolutionInstall and setup the Windows Active Directory Certificate Server Role on the windows server. NOTE: It is not within the scope of this document to describe the exact details in doing the windows server configuration.
