Symptoms

Operator Panel display works but touch screen does not react when the Start button is pressed for initial configuration of the library.

Cause

Ribbon cable connector P106 coming from the Operator Panel was not correctly seated on the Base Module KLM card.

Solution

Use the steps and video provided in SL150 - How To Remove/Replace a Base Module KLM FRU in the StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library:ATR:1473481.1:1 (Doc ID 1473481.1) to access to the KLM card.

1. Power off the library via the Web GUI and use the option enabled to prepare the robot for removal so that the robot ends up being in the parked position. If the Web GUI is not available please see the How to Park the Robot Manually procedure at the bottom of this document.

2. Reposition the robot lock to the locked position (loosen the thumbscrew, remove the mechanism, rotate the mechanism 180 degrees, insert the mechanism, and tighten the thumbscrew).

3. Disconnect all cables from the tape drives and library.

4. Remove the drive/drives from the base module.

5. Remove the drive filler plate/plates from the base module.

6. Remove the power supply/supplies from the base module.

7. Remove the power supply filler plate/plates from the base module.

8. Remove the robot set it aside.

Check/re-seat P/J106 on the KLM card.

Re-install Robot, power supply/supplies, Drive/drives and filler plate/plates.

Power on the library from the power button on the front of the library.
