VOP 2.1.1 Virtual Operator Panel SymptomsThere is an issue that can arise where a specific action can inadvertently delete a necessary configuration file. In VOP 2.1.1, the action of saving the domain.vop configuration file deletes the snmpConfigFile.txt file. This file is necessary to be able to process traps and create service requests for each configured library. (This issue only exists on 2.1.1) ChangesSaving the domain configuration file in the VOP 2.1.1 GUI. CauseIn VOP 2.1.1, the action of saving the domain.vop configuration file deletes the snmpConfigFile.txt file. This file is necessary to be able to process traps for each configured library. SolutionLog into the SDP2 server and check in the /home/sdp2/admin/.mdvop/lib directory [sdp2admin@hostname]# ls -l /home/sdp2admin/.mdvop/lib/ total 16 -rw-rw-r--. 1 sdp2admin sdp2admin 702 May 5 11:06 registrations.bin -rw-r--r--. 1 sdp2admin sdp2admin 1445 May 5 16:03 snmpConfigFile.txt -rw-rw-r--. 1 sdp2admin sdp2admin 2681 May 5 11:06 user_default_settings.properties If the snmpConfigFile.txt doesn’t exist in the /home/sdp2admin/.mdvop/lib directory, then it is necessary to recreate it using the steps below. In the VOP Client GUI - Edit Domain configuration screen: Highlight a library in question and click SNMP-> SNMP Configuration This will open a new window to allow us to configure the SNMP details for that specific library. Re-enable the SNMP configuration for that library:
Repeat this same process for EACH Library configured in SDP2. The /home/sdp2admin/.mdovp/lib/snmpConfigFile.txt binary file should be recreated properly. If you use the command strings to display its contents you should see the IP addresses of ALL the libraries listed. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
