Fujitsu M10-4S - Version All Versions and later
Fujitsu M10-4 - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

  • Symptom1
    • Any of the following Remote Cabinet Interface over LAN (RCIL) control commands fail with "Controller response timeout".
      • setremotepwrmgmt(8)
      • getremotepwrmgmt(8)
      • clearremotepwrmgmt(8)
      • showremotepwrmgmt(8)
  • Symptom2
    • External I/O devices and/or Remote Power Distribution Unit (PDU) in the RCIL group are not controled by the power supply interlocking feature even if the SPARC M10-4/4S is powered on.

The system may not be able to start because a necessary SPARC M10 and/or an external I/O device(s) are not powered on by the power supply interlocking feature.

Cause

This problem only affects the Fujitsu M10-4 and M10-4S running XCP2220.

This problem is caused by an XSCF firmware bug.

Because the process that supports the RCIL function does not initiate correctly, the power supply interlocking feature and the related commands do not work correctly.

Solution

There is no effective workaround.

Problem is fixed in XCP2221.

Please apply XCP2221 or higher.

or go to XCP2210.
