Symptoms

SL8500 Power Strips May Be Too Thick To Install.

A set of 3EF-313924302 power strips were received with a new installation and the plastic casing was found to be too thick to install on several strips.  Replacement strips were required.

Changes

Install of library.

Cause

Manufacturing issue with the power strips.

Solution

Until further notice make sure you inspect the power strips as soon as possible after the delivery of a new SL8500 or expansion upgrade.  You will need to unpack the strips and either check that every strip will freely slide into the rails or they can be measured if a caliper is available. The maximum thickness of a power strip is .230" (5.84 mm).   If the strips are too thick order replacements. There were both good and bad strips with the same date code so that is not a valid means of determining if the strips are usable.
