Symptoms

Releasing a system board by using Physical Partition Dynamic Reconfiguration (PPAR DR), may cause memory corruption, OS panic or Physical Partition reset (Hypervisor Abort) in the following conditions.

SPARC M10-4S and two or more Building Blocks(BB) System (2BB or more), and
A physical partition has two or more BB, and
PPAR DR mode is enabled, and
XCP Firmware version is XCP2090 or XCP2091 or XCP2092 or XCP2210.

Cause

This problem is caused by a Hypervisor firmware bug in the PPAR DR process affecting XCP2090 thru XCP2210 firmware.

Solution

Workaround:

Please do not use PPAR DR until upgrade to XCP2220 or later.
Use Inactive/Cold or System Stopped/Cold methods when performing maintenance prior to upgrading to XCP2220.

Resolution:
