Created from <SR 3-9023372651> Applies to:Exadata X3-2 Hardware - Version All Versions and laterSun Storage 6Gb SAS PCIe RAID HBA - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A] Exadata X4-2 Hardware - Version All Versions and later Exadata Database Machine X2-2 Hardware - Version All Versions and later Exadata Database Machine X2-8 - Version All Versions and later Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsAfter upgrading the SAS firmware on a Sun Storage 6GB/s PCI-E SAS RAID HBA (SG(X)-SAS6-R-INT-Z - AKA "Niwot" and "LSI MR9261-8i") You see the following error message on reboot: LSI MegaRAID SAS-MFI BIOS Foreign Configuration(s) found on adapter ChangesSAS firmware or Engineered Systems Image upgrade CauseThis behavior can occur when any SAS RAID configuration changes occur, including firmware upgrades. SolutionIn most cases, you can simply press 'F' to import the configuration and continue. If this fails you may need to press 'C' to load the configuration Wizard, which will then present you with choices for selectively importing configurations. Or, you may need to enter the SAS WebBIOS configuration utility and/or use the preboot cli, or MegaCli/MegaCli64 utility to fix any other issues before clearing or importing the foreign configuration. If none of these suggestions resolves the issue then the SAS HBA may need to be replaced. Please contact Oracle Support and open a new Service Request (SR) for further assistance.
