Symptoms

Following Hardware fault warnings are seen in the Exalogic IB Switch logs or Platinum alerts received with the following faults from IB switch

HARDWARE FAULT: Component error detected. Component Name: /SYS/POWER_ATTN

HARDWARE FAULT: Component error detected. Component Name: /SYS/CHASSIS_STATUS

Cause

This is a known unpublished Infiniband Switch defect:

Bug 18123353 - ADM1026 Erroneous readings of Voltage Channels even with workaround implemented

Solution

The fix of the bug 18123353 is targetted to include in Infiniband Gateway Switch Firmware update version 2.1.6.

These errors can safely be ignored if they are being seen intermittently.

To verify enviroment where the alert is seen, you can run the the following command:

root@ixl01gw02->env_test

From the generated verify the last line returns:

Environment test FAILED
root@xl01gw02->
Environment test PASSED

If this returns FAILED, then there is an issue that needs to be addressed. Please contact Oracle Exalogic Support via a new Service Request
