Created from <SR 3-8982399931> Applies to:Sun Fire V880 Server - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Sun Fire V890 Server - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsBoth Fan trays are marked as failing.
v880 / the server will shutdown after these messages.
CauseSuspected component 1, Two Fans are bad. 2, I/O board is failed (rule out any fan tray issue before replacing the io board) SolutionGather the following information from ok prompt From ok prompt: ok > probe-scsi-all Is System detecting disks or showing no hostid ? If no disks or hostid are detected, this can be further indication of an IO board issue. The IO board is more difficult to replace, and this should be taken into account in troubleshooting.
Recommendation is to dispatch: x2 540-3615 [F] - PCI Fan Tray x1 501-6524 [F] - I/O Board for the V880
