Symptoms

I have configured the NET MGT port with a static IP as per doc http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22985_01/html/E22986/z40004431411313.html however the port does not connect to the network.  The cable was replaced & the mac address of the port is not visible on the network switch.

Cause

 The user is unable to connect ILOM Net MGMT port to the network:

-> show /SP/network

 Properties:
     commitpending = (Cannot show property)
     dhcp_server_ip = none
     ipaddress = 10.242.48.51
     ipdiscovery = static
     ipgateway = 10.242.42.31
     ipnetmask = 255.255.224.0
     macaddress = 00:10:E0:45:D1:15

     sidebandmacaddress = 00:10:E0:45:D1:14
     state = disabled <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

 Commands:
     cd
     set
     show

Solution

 Problem solved after enabling Network property state

-> set /SP/network state=enabled
