Symptoms

On an Windows desktop with Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 browser, the ILOM web gui interfgace goes blank during firmware upgrade.

ILOM administration -> Maintenance -> Firmware Upgrade -> Enter Upgrade Now -> select OK

The upgrade page frame goes blank after hitting "Enter Upgrade Now", a pop up message will come up

"Are you sure you want to enter upgrade mode? other users currently logged in will lose their sessions upon completion".... .

once you select ok nothing happens.

Cause

This is an Internet Explorer 10 bug that currently affects ILOM 3.2.1.7.f (and below) release of the ILOM firmware used on SPARC T series

Solution

Engineering has implemented a fix for this issue in the next release of the ILOM firmware.

The current workaround is to use Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 or any supported Firefox browser.

This will be fixed in ILOM 3.2.1.8
