Symptoms

SL150 - Base Chassis CRU Not Shipped With Serial Number Label

Cause

The Base Chassis CRU does not get shipped out with a Serial Number label.  When the defective CRU is swapped out, it will not have a Serial Number on the library.  This is needed need to verify the library contract when opening a Service Request.

Solution

The customer will need to request a new label by opening a Service Request through My Oracle Support.

The customer will need to supply the following for a replacement label:

- Serial Number of the Library.

- Part Number of the Base Chassis that was replaced.

- Shipping address to send the replacement label.

- Contact name and phone number.

Note:  Please destroy the old label on the bad Base Chassis that was replaced after the Serial Number and Part Number have been supplied to Oracle support.

The L1 engineer whom gets the service request will need to open a collab for a L2 engineer so that they can go to manufacturing to get a new label printed and shipped to the customer.  The L1 engineer will need to provide the Serial Number and the Part Number that the customer supplied from the bad Base Chassis that was replaced.  The L2 engineer will also need to supply the address of the customer to manufacturing that the label should be shipped to.
