Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The system complains about unknown and/or unrecognized power supplies and fans.

The system fails to power on with messages about insufficient cooling and power.

Cause

The system in this example is a Sun Fire E4900. But the ID board shows as a E6900 system.

This will create confusion for the system controllers as they are expecting the system to be, in this case a Sun Fire E6900,

but it has the components of a Sun Fire E4900 installed.

Solution

Contact your local Oracle Support Hub and log a service request to rectify the problem by replacing the ID board with the correct model so programming and the

correct component data base can be loaded.
