Symptoms

Active SL Console media validation session is interrupted by a host request for the associated cartridge.  SL Console indicates the media validation has stopped but does not allow the user to start another media validation.  The SL Console media validation appears to be hung.

Example of what will be seen in the SL Console validation progress window:

-------------------------------------------------

standardVerify  Cart: RWB212T2  Drive: 1,3,-1,1,1

Date : 02/20/2014     Time : 11:07:32

-------------------------------------------------

11:07:32 Retrieving and mounting cartridge

11:07:54 Validation progress - 0%

11:09:06 Validation progress - 16%

11:09:22 Please wait...Stopping validation, dismounting cartridge and returning to source.

11:11:35 Drive reported that Media Validation is finished

11:11:35 Media validation completion status: success (16% complete when validation interrupted)

A SLC refresh clears the validation progress window, and the Start button is made active, but you can't select a different validation type.  In this case, the only way to recover is to log out of SLC then log back in.

If a refresh is not done, the Stop button is active, but an error pops up.

Then, if you select the stop button, the 2nd screen shot shows the error that pops up.

The last screen shot shows what the media validation progress area looks like after closing the error pop up.
