Created from <SR 3-7860937128>

Applies to:

SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 - Version All Versions and later
Integrated Software for ZFS 7xx0 Arrays - Version All Versions and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
All clusterable ZFS Storage Appliance systems are effected.

Symptoms

One of two storage appliance heads installed inside a ZFS Applicance System clustered (for example: a 7320 in a Supercluster) shows misleading error messages when  try to connect in a "share" tab from GUI:

Message :

"Storage is currently unavailable on this appliance. It may be un-configured, or the storage pool may be faulted."

Cause

This is expected behavior so message can be ignored.

Solution

The Storage Appliance included in the Rack has one zpool configured on the single attached JBOD. Therefore the heads run in an active / passive manner. Only one head will have access to the storage at any one time. This message  is expected on the inactive head. It can also be verified the resources associated the head under the Configuration -> Cluster tabs.
