Symptoms

Multiple HP LTO5 tape drives are reporting CRC errors during the Auxiliary Copy run in CommV

The customer receives the following errors listed below from an HP LTT drive dump:

- Drive History

- Errors returned to host

Cause

Firmware issue.

Solution

Install HP LTO5 firmware level I67S.

Release I67S has the following fixes(among others):

Fix for possible Space failure if spacing beyond EOD.
Fix for an issue where the drive could try to search beyond EOD and fail for a 0x5092 error.
Fix for occurrences of 0x5090/0x5092 errors.
