Cause
Found a perm error reported by the drive while trying to read a tape.
The drive was no able to engage the leader pin, so was not able to read the tape, its date or MIR/RFI parts. FSC reported 5535.

The file reel moved unexpectedly during the time when the cartridge leader should be stationary (ears seated).
Solution
1. Unload the tape from the drive.
2. Eject it from the library.
3. Check if the leader is pulled inside the cartridge.
4. Check to see if other drives are able to load the cartridge.
The problem noted is address in microcode version 1.59.302. |
