Symptoms

Messages like these are seen in the logs:

Mon Feb  3 20:20:03 2014: failed to take automatic snapshot pool-0/export/myfile@.auto-1391458800: dataset does not exist

...

Changes

A project or a share was deleted.

Cause

 The cause is due to Bug 15783635 nas_snapmgr unnecessarily tries to take snapshots of datasets that have been deleted.

Solution

The solution to stop the messages being logged is to restart the Appliance Kit Daemon (akd).

NOTE: Restarting akd may affect data services, please see document:

     1543359.1 - Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System: Restarting the Appliance Kit Management Daemon (AKD) may impact production data services

NOTE: Restarting the akd will disconnect you from the current session.

To restart akd from the CLI do the following;

CLI> maintenance system restart
