Symptoms

Not able to start cli on newly added Blades in SB6000 chassis.

Cause

The issue occurs when newly added Blades with the ILOM version 3.1.x are added to a chassis running ILOM 3.0.

The new Blades are 8.4.0.a, ILOM version 3.2.1.5, which has had some changes.
The major change is that the start cli command was done away with.
 
Major change in ILOM 3.1.x version
 

Solution

1. Upgrade of the original blades and chassis is recommended.

or

2. Use 2 methods to power on and start the Blades
 The newly installed Blades with ILOM version 3.1.x will need to use a new procedure.
-> start cli  is not used anymore.

The new syntax to access and start the Blade from the CMM  is:
-> cd /CH/BLx   (x=blade slot#)
-> show

/CH/BLx/
  Targets:
      HOST
      System
      SP

-> start System

Then:
-> start HOST/console  (to access the console)
