Symptoms

Whenever script metric_iorm.pl is ran, MS crashes and RS report that in ms.err as below

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

And alert history shows

49 2013-09-26T17:51:57+02:00 critical "RS-7445 [Serv MS is absent] [It will be restarted]

Cause

This is due to Bug 17536632 - MS CRASHES WITH ORA-07445 WHENEVER SCRIPT METRIC_IORM.PL IS RUN.

Solution

Bug 17536632 is fixed in 12.1.2.1.0 and it is expected to be included in 11.2.3.3.2 release(which is a future release at the time of writing this document).
