Applies to:

Sun Network QDR InfiniBand Gateway Switch - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A]
Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 1.0.0.0.0 and later
Exadata Database Machine X2-2 Hardware - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Issuing "fwverify" CLI command on IB switches throws following error.

root@ibswitch-b0 ~]# fwverify

Checking all present packages:
.............................................................................................................................................. OK

Checking if any packages are missing:
......................................................................................................................................... OK

Verifying installed files:
........................................................................................................................................... FAILED

* Package openssh-server-4.3p2-26.el5.i386:
S.5....T c /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Cause

This fwverify error will be seen any time fwverify is run and detects customized files been modified from the baseline IB switch firmware.  In all instances (either after upgrade or just randomly running fwverify) these errors can be safely ignored.

There are known issues with this command; so you can ignore the results displayed in the Verifying installed files section. This will be fixed in a future release.

Solution

Customer can visually review the implicated files to see what changes have been made and back out the changes if necessary.  Alternatively, customer can choose to ignore such errors from fwverify.
