Symptoms

Using BUI method to re-flash or downgrade firmware on SPARC T5-X servers with System Firmware 9.1.1 may experience hang and will not complete.

Occurs during the upload firmware step. The firmware upload process will appear hung and may timeout.

Cause

ILOM software regression. Issue only seen with System Firmware 9.1.1

This is related to bug 17816477

Solution

Upgrade to 9.1.2.D or greater, or use the CLI load command as documented in

Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) Documentation Collection for Firmware Release 3.2

> load -source protocol://username:password@server_ip/<path_to_image>/<image.pkg>

The fix for Bug 17816477 will be in SysFW 9.1.2
