Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1608078.1 : SL500 - Library Is Not Being Recognized By The Backup Server
In this Document
Oracle Confidential PARTNER - Available to partners (SUN). Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL500 Modular Library System - Version All Versions and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. Symptoms- Library is not being recognized by the backup server, Windows 2008 in this case. - Port on the SAN switch is in orange color (communication issue). Cables and ports were changed without any success. - Customer gets this message when trying to connect to the library via SLC: "Failed to create device list from response received from library". This occurred with an old and new version of SLC. - Customer checks the library and sees no service lights on. This is assumed to occur due to a low firmware version (in this case 1300). - Customer powers the library off/on and they don't seem to see/hear the arm moving around. Changes
CauseRobot failed. This failure can be confirmed if you try to SSH into the library and run this command: REMOTE>> libstate print SolutionFE should be sent to get a "print log all" off of the library or we can offer up a WebEx to the customer so that we can log into the library via SSH and get a" print log all". The robot should not be replaced until we can verify the robot is at fault or if it is possibly some sort of obstruction. Replace robotic assembly if the information validates defective robot.
