Symptoms

On : Exadata with Exadata ZFS Plugin

Exadata Backup Configuration Utility (exadata_bcu ) script for ZFS Storage reports errors on creating project.

ERROR

Creating project and shares on Pool1 ...
Error: failed to create project and shares on root@link1zfs.us.oracle.com
Error: create project failed - tstuat

STEPS
-----------------------
Customer executes the 'exadata_bcu' script from /opt/oracle.SupportTools/rman/exadata_bcu:

tstuat1@dmcsdmdb01:/opt/oracle.SupportTools/rman/exadata_bcu%*>./exadata_bcu

Changes

Attempting to run Exadata Backup Configuration Utility script, exadata_bcu to configure ZFS Storage appliance.

Cause

netmask not passed when prompted to 'Enter the IPs of the Exadata for NFS rw access:'

Solution

Enter the IP Addresses and netmask (in CIDR slash notation) when prompted to 'Enter the IPs of the Exadata for NFS rw access:'

For example:

Enter the IPs of the Exadata for NFS rw access:

Separate multiple entries by comma (,)

Example: 10.80.36.0/24,10.80.37.81/0 (netmask is required)

10.80.36.150/0,10.80.36.151/0,10.80.36.152/0,10.80.36.153/0
