LTO Tape Drive - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

One drive not responding to any commands from the Netbackup.

Cause

Possible media issue or any warning set the drive offline. Drive was online in the OS level. Could be a result of environment/application related events.

Solution

Check if any logs generated by the Autoloader at the time of issue.
Check the Web Interface/ Op Panel for the respective drive status.
If online and no cleaning is required, check the drive status on the OS level.
If the drive is online in OS level, reconfigure the drive in the backup application (Remove and Re-Add...not just offline and online).

This should bring the drive back online in the application.
Perform a test backup or diagnostics to ensure the drive functionality.
