Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1598353.1 : On Oracle Big Data Appliance RPM Validation Errors Reported in BDA_REBOOT_FAILED File
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-7835744831> Applies to:Big Data Appliance X3-2 Hardware - Version All Versions and laterLinux x86-64 SymptomsOn Oracle Big Data Appliance(BDA) cluster, some nodes report RPM validation errors in /root/BDA_REBOOT_FAILED file. Once the reboot is complete, executing bdachecksw/bdacheckcluster does NOT report any RPM validation errors reported during boot/startup. Executing bdacheckcluster will report the nodes with errors within /root/BDA_REBOOT_FAILED file ERROR: Last reboot failed on host bda1node02
ERROR: Last reboot failed on host bda1node04 ERROR: Last reboot failed on host bda1node05 ERROR: Last reboot failed on host bda1node06
ERROR: Required package python is is not valid : S.?..... /usr/bin/python
ERROR: Required package readline is is not valid : S.?..... /usr/lib64/libreadline.so.5.1 ERROR: Required package rpm is is not valid : S.?..... /usr/bin/rpm2cpio ERROR: Required package ruby is is not valid : S.?..... /usr/bin/ruby ERROR: Required package tcl is is not valid : S.?..... /usr/bin/tclsh8.4 ERROR: Required package tcsh is is not valid : S.?..... /bin/tcsh ERROR: Required package tk is is not valid : S.?..... /usr/bin/wish8.4 ERROR: Required package zsh is is not valid : S.?..... /bin/zsh ERROR: Required package ipmiflash is is not valid : S.?..... /usr/bin/ipmiflash ERROR: Required package ipmitool is is not valid : S.?..... /usr/bin/ipmitool ERROR: Required package R-core is is not valid : S.?..... /usr/bin/Rscript Note:- RPM errors may vary from node to node. CauseThe validation string "S.?.....", indicates that the size has changed (or could not be figured out) and the MD5 sum could not be calculated. This suggests that the file was temporarily inaccessible.
SolutionIf the bdachecksw/bdacheckcluster returns NO errors after the boot is completed then the warnings reported in /root/BDA_REBOOT_FAILED file can be ignored. Once the /root/BDA_REBOOT_SUCCEEDED file is generated then bdacheckcluster will NOT report any reboot failure error.
