Symptoms

The error message "System busy, waiting 120 seconds to start task error message" shows up when trying to display the running-config.

Cause

When CLI (command line interface) "more" is enabled and one user is currently in the middle of displaying the running-config, any additional user who simultaneously executes the same show command will receive the following response when trying to display the configuration:

"system busy, waiting 120 seconds to start task".

Solution

One option to wait the 120 seconds to get back to the telnet/SSH prompt, close the telnet session and open an entirely new session. There is no configurable method to change the 120 second timer, nor any way to break out of the waiting period.
