Symptoms

Error messages in the acsss_event.log:

ACSLS started getting duplicate (response) transaction messages yesterday at 21:40:27 and continued on until today when they restarted ACSLS at 1:20 am today.
Tape operations were uninterrupted during this time as shown by numerous Dismount event messages.

Cause

Robot or library code issues

Solution

1. Restart ACSLS with acslh trace enabled:
  $ cmd_proc -l
  ACSSA> idle
  ACSSA> logoff
  $ acsss disable
  $ start_logging.sh -a acslh
  $ acsss enable

2. If the problem persists,
  - disable acslh trace:
  $ stop_logging.sh acslh
  - decode the acslh trace and analyze for duplicate response packets
  - review the library log snapshot for errors associated with the duplicate transaction messages in ACSLS
  - check library code level compatibility with ACSLS

Note:
The acslh trace and library log snapshot should be analyzed by Oracle Support.
If a service request is opened, these files should be attached to the service request.
