Symptoms

Mammoth Installation 2.2.1 fails at Step 14 with ERROR: Errors found verifying ASR setup requirements

...
...
ERROR: asr_hostname.example.com has 162 : CLOSED
ERROR: Errors found verifying ASR setup requirements.
ERROR: Please disable ASR using the spreadsheet and regenerate the mammoth input params file.
ERROR: Use mammoth-config add asr later to configure ASR or
ERROR: Please fix the issue and re-run this step.

Cause

The issue here is that the Auto Service Request (ASR) Manager is either not running on the specified host or is not accessible from the Oracle Big Data Appliance  (BDA).

The BDA Owner's Guide has a section which describes how to verify that the ASR Manager is running on that host.

5.4 Verifying the ASR Manager Installation

Solution

If it possible to quickly resolve the issue with the ASR Manager then do that before proceeding.

OR

If the ASR Manager issue cannot be resolved, quickly disable ASR for the installation and proceed with the installation. At a later time when issues with the ASR manager are resolved, ASR can be configured for the cluster.

1. To disable the ASR configuration for the installation, open the spreadsheet used, disable ASR in there.

2. Regenerate the mammoth params file.

3. If ASR is disabled in the mammoth params file, Step 14 to install and configure ASR must be rerun. The step will not perform any setup of ASR since it is disabled.

The output from running the step would look like this when ASR is disabled:

INFO: ASR disabled ... nothing needs to be done here
