Symptoms

This issue could possibly be seen on any T3-x or T4-x servers / blades.

Upon initial power on, T4-4 shows the below errors in Host-Config:

[CPU 1:0:0] ERROR:   N1.MCU0.BoB1.Ch1.D1.R0.St 6, No Eye Found and there is no rank sharing.
[CPU 1:0:0] ERROR:   N1.MCU0.BoB0.Ch0.D0.R0.St 0, No Eye Found and there is no rank sharing.
[CPU 1:0:0] ERROR:   N1.MCU0.BoB0.Ch0.D0.R0.St 0, No Eye Found and there is no rank sharing.
[CPU 1:0:0] ERROR:   Lane failures during DQS cleanup for MCU0
[CPU 1:0:0] ERROR:   train_ddr_channels failed for MCU0
[CPU 1:0:0] ERROR:   Calibrate DRAM interface failed for MCU0
[CPU 1:0:0] ERROR:   MCU0: DRAM init failed
[CPU 1:0:0] ERROR:   /SYS/PM0/CMP1/BOB0/CH0/D0 failed to initialize
[CPU 1:0:0] ERROR:   /SYS/PM0/CMP1/BOB1/CH1/D1 failed to initialize

However later when POST completes, it does not show any errors:

POST Passed all devices.

When the banner appears, only half of the memory is displayed and it does not proceed with the normal auto-boot sequence.

The ILOM event list reports the following errors:

These errors have been seen with System FW: 8.2.2.c so they were not related to the issue described in Doc ID 1489176.1.

Cause

These errors are likely caused by bad memory dimms.

Solution

Open a service request with Oracle Support for further review.
