Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1588138.1 : Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System: Replication fails to start when Cluster Peers are replicating to Same Target
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-7837277691> Applies to:Sun ZFS Storage 7320 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Sun ZFS Storage 7120 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Sun Storage 7110 Unified Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Sun Storage 7210 Unified Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] Sun Storage 7310 Unified Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] 7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks) SymptomsIf both the cluster peers are replicating to the "same" replication target/IP address, then replication from one of the cluster peers (source) will not start.
The following error may be seen during replication failure: errmsg = stage 'stream_setup' failed: failed to invoke receive() XDR: rpc com.sun.ak.nas_repl.receive:1 failed on remote peer: receive request rejected by sender
logs/replication.ak shows the similar error Fri Sep 27 23:45:58 2013

CauseAfter analysis, you may see that source is a cluster system and both cluster peers are participating in replication to the same target head/node. You need to verify if both heads from source are doing replication to same target. This can be checked with the following ways : On the source, check the replication service and the target configured. Check whether both nodes on the cluster have replication actions configured for project/share to the same target.
NOTE: Replication from cluster peer to the same target (IP) is not supported. NOTE: Replication to the same target from cluster peer is not supported.

SolutionSolution is to use different IP address for the target. That is, create another target - using the BUI: Configuration > Services > replication - with a different IP address.
