Symptoms

The user is unable to set the ILOM's Net Mgmt parameters:

-> set pendingipdiscovery=static
Set 'pendingipdiscovery' to 'static'

-> set pendingipaddress=10.175.193.43
Set 'pendingipaddress' to '10.175.193.43'

-> set pendingipnetmask=255.255.254.0
Set 'pendingipnetmask' to '255.255.254.0'

-> set pendingipgateway=10.175.192.1
Set 'pendingipgateway' to '10.175.192.1'

-> set /SP hostname=up06814-ilom
Set 'hostname' to 'up06814-ilom'

-> set commitpending=true
set: Unable to get network management property

Cause

If the ILOM's network management cable is not connected to the network, then this problem can occur.

This is related to bug 15990899

Solution

The network parameters can be configured once the Net MGMT cable is connected to the network.
