SPARC T5-4 - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

High fan speed reported on a single SPARC T5-4 system

Cause

The Intelligent Fan Controller (IFC) prior to System FW 9.0.2.g would increase system fan speeds to 100% in response to environmental changes, causing fan tach oscillations.

From System FW 9.0.2.g onwards the Intelligent Fan Controller (IFC) will increment fan speed changes instead.

Solution

Install System FW 9.0.2.g (patchID 17019069) or later
