Symptoms

CELL-07501 errors are reported in your cell server logs.  You would like to verify if these errors are resolved or outstanding.

The CELL-07501 error is usually preceded by another alerthistory update which outlines the problem.  This alerthistory entry may have the "Severity: clear" designation, which means that the underlying issue is now cleared or resolved.

For example you might see in the file /opt/oracle/cell/log/diag/asm/cell/exacel02/trace/ms-odl.trc:

[2012-12-06T14:38:50.515-07:00] [ossmgmt] [NOTIFICATION] [] [ms.core.MSAlertHistory] [tid: 16] [ecid: 172.17.202.61:21361:1333580944821:7,0] AlertHistory 40_2 created. Severity: clear. Cause

CELL-07501 occur frequently in the cell server logs and can cause concern.

Solution

Use the following commands to determine if there is an issue with the cell server:

1.  CellCLI> alter cell validate configuration

A successful output would be:

CellCLI> alter cell validate configuration
Cell exacel02 successfully altered

2.  /opt/oracle.SupportTools/CheckSWProfile.sh -c

A successful output would be:

[root@exacel02 ~]# /opt/oracle.SupportTools/CheckSWProfile.sh -c

[INFO] SUCCESS: Meets requirements of operating platform and InfiniBand software.
[INFO] Check does NOT verify correctness of configuration for installed software.

If these commands do not return the expected successful outputs, please collect a sundiag report and open a Hardware Request with Support.
