Information in this document applies to any platform.
Tape drive will not mount any tapes. ACSLS event log reports "drive reported a Unit Attention." No cartridge present on drive. SLConsole reports FSC 5915
Takeup reel unslack failed. Most likely cause is the takeup leader has fallen off of the buckler hook.
FSC: 5915 REEL_FSC_MACHINE_LEADER_OFF_HOOK

Drive received FSC 5535 on specific volser. Refer to related Doc ID 1546380.1
FSC: 5535 The file reel moved unexpectedly during the time when the cartridge leader should be stationary (ears seated). Such unexpected motion could signal that the cart leader is being pulled out of or into the cartridge.
Eject the tape that failed and verify if the leader is in the correct location.

Tape was successfully dismounted with FSC: 5803 SRV_FSC_TAPE_LEADER_UNBUCKLE_FAILURE
Tape Leaders failed to unbuckle during an unload operation. Manual intervention is required.
T1000A/B/C - Eject the tape that failed and verify if the leader is in the correct location.

Upon next tape load to same drive in question FSC:5915 received.

Symptoms

Drive had a stuck tape issue. After tape was ejected drive would not load any media.

Tape drive will not mount any tapes.  ACSLS event log reports "drive reported a Unit Attention."  No cartridge present on drive.  SLConsole reports FSC5915.

Cause

FSC 5535: Tape Leaders failed to unbuckle during an unload operation. Manual intervention is required.

Drive x.x.x.x.x. received the FSC 5915 upon tape next load attempt:
Takeup reel unslack failed. Most likely cause is the takeup leader has fallen off of the buckler hook.
 

Solution

Tape Leaders failed to unbuckle correctly during an unload operation.
Most likely cause is the takeup leader has fallen off of the buckler hook.
Manual intervention is required.

Support Annotations: T1000A/B/C - Eject the tape that failed and verify if the leader is in the correct location.

If this occurs, ask a Field Engineer through a Service Request to repair the leader using the clutch tool.
