Applies to:

Sun ZFS Storage 7320 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Any version or model of SuperCluster
Any Attached 7000 series NAS
Installing Database software with DBCA to NFS mounted volumes

Symptoms

While installing database hangs with the message "Setting up 'Oracle Database 11g 11.2.0.3.0 '" when installing to NAS device and heads can do either v3 or v4 of NFS

Changes

 None

Cause

DBCA was trying to execute permission changes on files it could not access. This is because the mapping of the oracle user would not properly line up with expected ACLS on the 7320

Solution

Log into the 7320 via ssh and do dns lookups for forward and reverse lookups for any and all hosts involved in the DBCA run.  If they do not resolve correct DNS
